In Search Of A True Friend In The Midst Of Friends

FRIENDS !!!! Such a common yet much significant and eloquent word. It describes a kind of relation that can’t be demarcated.  No single person on this earth is without a friend. We have Facebook friends, Whatsapp friends, Skype friends, Twitter friends, Google+ friends, etc. apart from college friends, school friends, tuition friends, sports friends, family friends, best friends and lot more countless such friends. As the famous Airtel song “Har Ek Friend Jaroori Hota Hai” designates, we may have shopping friends, copying friends, joke buddy, poke buddy, chatroom friends, party friends, etc. You also must be having such lots of friends. Right from the moment we open our eyes to the time we die, we make many more friends. Yet many of us are in search of a true friend in the midst of friends.

A true friend means - a friend who knows you much more than yourselves, a friend who always stands with you no matter what so ever happens, a friend who can fight for you, a friend who can hold your hand and proudly addresses you as his/her friend knowing and accepting your worst past, a friend who can understand you to such a level where you need not to describe the reason for your mistakes, a friend to whom you don’t need to lie because he/she understands you, a friend whom you can trust,  a friend with whom you can share every little thing you feel around. A true friend keeps your secret as secret and have nice things to say about you even at your back.  A true friend never lets you do stupid things alone.

Your every feeling every sensation every tension every happiness can be smelled by a true friend. A true friend allows you to share everything – the reason you blush, your first crush, thing that hurts you, thing that inspires you. One of the most beautiful quality of a true friend is to understand and to be understood. We fight with him/her not to win over any argument, but to have the pretty feeling called FUN – like Tom and Jerry – no matter how long they, the series always has a happy ending showing inseparability they have, the unconditional friendship they have.

The person with whom you can share your every talk without worrying about what he/she will think about you, what impression he/she will create for you in his/her mind is called a true friend. A true friend is hard to find and tough to preserve. True friend means understanding not argument. A true friend is one who sees your first tear, stops the second and turn third into a smile. A true friend should be one who can protect you from your immoral enemies, who stops you from doing wrong things instead of leaving you alone to face the situation no matter whosoever is responsible for the situation, a friend who consoles you instead of blaming you. A true friend should be one who can put his/her best effort to see that beautiful curve on you face called smile.

Sometimes when I honestly ask myself - who in my life mean the most to us, my heart often answers that - it is the one who, instead of giving advice, solutions, or cures, should choose to share my pain and touch my wounds with a warm and tender hand like Pooh and Piglet, Scooby and Shaggy, Mickey and Donald, Simon and Pumba, Aladdin and jinny, Ash and Pikachu, Batman and Robin, Oswald and Tiny. The friend who can be silent with us in a moment of despair or confusion, who can stay with us in an hour of grief and bereavement, who can tolerate not knowing, not curing, not healing and face with us the reality of our powerlessness is baptised as a true friend who cares. A true friend is like art and philosophy.... It has no survival value; rather it gives value to survival. A true friend should be the glue that holds life and faith together.

I am in search of such a true friend in the midst of friends and you?
